| Vacuum infusion technology transfer |
|
We transfer our vacuum infusion technology to companies that want to innovate their moulding technique to improve workshop atmosphere or laminate quality. Together with our clients we first analyse the given structure (yacht hull or deck, rotorblade, bridge deck etc) in terms of materials used and properties required. We then carry out the following tasks:
- investigating opportunities of integration of production steps to reduce costs
- development of infusion strategy - testing of preferred materials and advising on alternatives
- advising on auxilliary materials and equipment
- short course on the principles of infusion
- hands-on training of workshop personnel - supervised infusion of a complete structure
The following pictures show a typical infusion strategy for manufacturing a yacht hull (in this case, a Contest 50, consisting of glass mats and fabrics, balsa cores and vinylester resin). The reinforcement is covered with a main runner and side runners and a plastic film which is sealed on the mould flange with tacky tape.
Do not hesitate to contact us and ask for our project plan for the technology transfer of vacuum infusion! Related topics: - available in 2006: our re-usable bag with integrated runner system - under development: an infusion control unit
